Shortly after the death of her mother due to cancer, medical student Nancy Adams travels to a secluded beach in Mexico, the same beach her mother visited while she was pregnant.
While surfing she is attacked by a large white shark, leaving her injured and stranded on a rock not too far out to sea. What follows is a battle of wits and wills between her and the shark.
This movie is well-crafted shark thriller with a strong lead performance by Blake Lively.
